So who is it that decides what is good for us and what is bad?
life is so complex....so you think. Next time when you take an air plane, look at the earth below. You will find that life is after all is not that complicated. You can see how peaceful and beautiful the life is from far.
We often think that we need a good, nice and big house so that we can become a good provider to the family. We feel it is dark so we put a lot of lights, we feel that it is warm so we install air conditioners - lots of them. We then fill the garage with nice big cars -- we always think that this is the good and best thing we can do! Ironically every single soul on this earth is thinking that it is doing a good thing -- providing luxuriously to people under their care!
Imagine nowadays that people are no longer able to tolerate living without air-conditioning. Every single house is equipped with this and everyone of it is discharging the heat to the environment -- non stop. Same thing goes to the cars, fridges, electronic equipment, computers and you name it.
Enough had been written and said about the effects of global warming -- what caused it and how can we collectively help to reduce the effects. World leaders are attending summits addressing how critical the situation is and at the same time warn the populations of the impending catastrophes. We have already seen the devastating effects of natural disasters that were not seen before which must have some how rather related to the global warming phenomena. All these are the direct impacts of the works of the human hands over the accumulated years and centuries.
People are so preoccupied with their goals in life – getting a bigger house, driving a bigger cars, accumulate as many properties as they can, build their manufacturing companies, expand their automotive plants, earn more and more money to the extend that they forget what they need for their entire life is actually just a small portion of what they have already accumulated. Look at the people around us, how many of them can still live and enjoy life at the age of say 120 years? None! So the fact is that every living thing will taste death! So why is it that some people work their way out to become billionaire? Multi-millionaire? Just to find out at the end they just have to say good bye to the big empire they build and proud of so much. They are still ending up in the graves!
Of course they are providing employment opportunities to people like you and me but these are also the people who are on the driver seats maneuvering the world through the path of destructions. Everyday, the working level people who formed the majority of the population, crank their heads, of course upon directive from all the people on the driver seats, to keep producing cars, busses, trailers, planes, ships, boats , equipment, machineries, etc for making up a good sales number for the shareholders and owners. The governments on the other hand always wanted all these companies to make more and more money years after years so that more taxes can be collected.
What this triggers you? Most of us are hypocrites! – we champions when it comes to the subject of saving the environment but at the same time we are also championing the impending destructions.
At the individual levels, look at how SOV (Single Occupant Vehicle) has become such a problem on our roads. Not only that people prefer to travel alone, they are now driving alone in an 8-seater Multi Purpose Vehicle! So you blame them?
Life has been so taylored that every family need at least two cars. Some require one car and one MPV to take family members around reasonably comfortably. Most of other times, the car and MPV are use for commuting to work -- resulting in people commuting SOV in MPV. You want them to purchase another small car?
